Meet Mrs. Poloronis
My name is LeeAnne Poloronis and I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at ABC School once again. This year will be my 14th year in education, with almost all of my experience here at ABC School. I have taught grades 3-8, mostly 4th and 5th grades, with a short time in 1st grade. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2003 from Florida State University in May and began my first year teaching in 4th grade at ABC School that fall. I have earned a Master's Degree in Counseling with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis. It is my passion to see children grow and develop academically, emotionally, and socially. I strive to challenge students who are catching on quickly, take extra measures to help those who need more support, and deliver engaging lessons to the whole class, while making each child feel important in our classroom. I find it important to uncover each child's social strengths, whether that's leadership qualities, helpfulness, etc... On a personal note, I have been married to Timmy Poloronis for 13 years and we have two beautiful children, Owen (11) and Olivia (9) who both attend ABC School in the 6th and 4th grades. We enjoy sports, including baseball, men's softball, basketball, and tennis. (The boys like to play and Olivia and I like to watch and take a shopping break here and there.) We enjoy the beach and swimming pool. We value our family time with our little family, as well as our extended family, who is mostly all right here in Apalachicola. I'm very eager to begin a great year with my newest 5th grade school family. If, at any time, you or your child do not feel that my classroom is warm, inviting, and safe for them to learn and grow in, please feel free to email me, call me, or schedule a conference. It is of course my goal that each child master every standard set forth by the state of Florida, it is equally my goal that each child have a GREAT experience in 5th grade!
